Miss Mousie Post at Pink Heart Society

My mom's new book is out and features a diva foster kitty named Blossom. Of course, she shares no resemblance at all to me, the beloved and sweetheart of a cat, Miss M!

Today, my mommy wrote an Authors and their Pets post over at another blog called The Pink Heart Society. She, of course, choose to write about me and she talks about this blog.

The other cats aren't happy about me being the focus, especially Spirit. Our new foster, Honey who daddy renamed Liberty while mommy was away for four days, doesn't understand why she wasn't featured since the rest of us now have our forever homes, but such is life.

If you want to read the post, click here. Comment, if you want to win a book. But really you should go to read about me and see my pictures.

Love,
Miss Mousie

Please help Jeremiah

Miss Mousie would like to bring your attention to Jeremiah, a fellow West Columbia Gorge Humane Society, cat who found his forever home but had hidden dental issues that have become a financial issue for his adopter. If you can, please help Jeremiah's mom with his medical expenses by either donating or spreading the word out about his fundly campaign. Thanks!

Padden to be adopted!

Padden has been recovering and the plan is for him to be adopted by a former WCGHS volunteer. I was at the cat house last week where I was told the good news!

Thanks for all your help. We raised over $750 for Padden's medical care. You guys are awesome!

Meet Padden

Picture taken on 12/22/13
Miss Mousie would like to introduce you to Padden. He was returned to the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society by his family because he is very ill and needs surgery. His vet bill is already $300+ and surgery will cost about $700.

We've learned Padden has an intestinal blockage. WCGHS will be getting a second opinion on Monday, December 22nd. I have asked to be kept posted on his condition and a request for the amount of money that's been raised. As soon as I hear back on the funds (how much has been raised/what's still needed) I will post.

His situation is so similar to Miss Mousie that it hurts my heart. Fortunately his surgery is less expensive than hers, but just as necessary.

Please continue to spread the word and donate if you can. Every little bit helps and donations are tax-deductible.

In case you are new to the Help Miss Mousie blog, Paypal sends donations directly to Miss Mousie's fund at the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society. Any money raised that's not used for Padden's care will be used for other shelter animals in need of medical treatment.

Let's give Padden a Christmas miracle.

Thank you from Miss Mousie, her forever family, several cat loving authors and the volunteers at the WCGHS!

A Year Later...

Miss Mousie is fully recovered from her TECA surgery.

She was adopted by her foster family this past spring and now has a forever home.

We are forever grateful for all the support, prayers and donations to help our sweet girl. We can't thank you enough. It's amazing what people can do when they all pull together!

I apologize for not keeping the blog updated. I've been better about the Help Miss Mousie Facebook page, but I'll post some recent pics of he soon.

Thank you again!

Merry Christmas from Miss Mousie!

Not another picture!
Miss Mousie sends her Christmas wishes to all of you! Last night, she sat next to the tree and stared at the lights and presents. When we woke up this morning, Santa left Miss Mousie a stocking of treats and presents under the tree!

The photo on the left was taken just a few minutes ago! Miss Mousie didn't want her picture taken, but we told her it was for the blog and she let us take one. But just one!

She is still on anti-virals for her cold/URI issues and they're really helping her. Though she keeps trying to trick us that she's swallowed the pill then a few minutes later will spit it out! We have to watch her very carefully.

Thank you again for helping us get Miss Mousie her TECA surgery.  She feels so much better!

In the series of books I write set on Mount Hood, Christmas Magic is a running thread. Even though we're an hour and a half away from the mountain, I have no doubt a bit of Christmas Magic in September and a lot of love from cat people near and far are what saved Miss Mousie! It's amazing what we accomplished in such a short time! She and all of us are so grateful for your help.

Merry Christmas from all of us!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I like turkey!
Miss Mousie wants to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! She continues to heal and do well, in spite of another cold she caught. Her fur is growing back, too! The picture on the left was taken this morning.

She, along with all of us here, are so grateful that we were able to raise the money for her surgery and that's because of your support and help.

We hope you have a wonderful day with your family whether you're celebrating Thanksgiving here in the States or elsewhere in the world!

Thank you!

Welcome

Miss Mousie is a senior (no-longer a foster) cat from the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society in Washington who needed TECA (Total Ear Canal Ablation) surgery that was estimated to cost an estimated $5000. We managed to find another clinic who would do it for under $4000! Her romance author mom enlisted the help of cat loving writers to help Miss Mousie and raised the necessary funds for the surgery in 2012. Be sure to check out the Authors & Their Cats posts. Links below! And her foster family has since become Miss Mousie's forever family.
