In order to have content to drive traffic to this site, we'll be publishing blog posts about Authors & Their Cats as we receive them. There is no deadline to send yours in. The more posts, the better! Each post will have a link with an author's name on the blog's right side bar.
If you are a published author and would like to participate, all you have to do is write about you and your cat and send it to us. The length is up to you, but we would like you to include at least one picture of you and your cat (or just your cat if you're camera shy!) If you have more than one photograph that's fine. We would appreciate it if you'd link to your post via social media so we can get some traffic and donations to help Miss Mousie.
As for the blog posts... Each is as individual as an author's voice. Some authors have written from their POV, others from their cat's POV (including owning an author) and some from both POVs. If your cat has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, we encourage you to participate. Just tell us about your beloved kitty when you had them.
If you're not sure what to write (usually not a problem with authors, but it was suggested we come up with a list just in case) here are some ideas:
• Cat's name
• Sex
• Age
• How long have you had the cat?
• Where did you get the cat?
• Favorite pastime
• Interesting quirks?
• How does he or she like being a writer's cat? (ex. what does your cat do while you write, if he or she does anything specific? Does your cat like to help you type?)
• Has he/she ever been in one of your books?
• Anything you else you might want to say about your cat or your cat about you!
As mentioned above, please include a picture. We'll also need your website address for a link within the post and what genre you write (romance, thriller, mystery, non-fiction, etc.) for the post label. If you write under a pseudonym, please make sure it's clear what name you want the listing under.
Send an email with the blog either in the email or attached as an rtf/doc/docx file and attach a photo to helpmissmousie(at)gmail(dot)com.
You will be contacted via email that the info was received and a link to your blog once it's gone live. In case you're wondering, all donations will go directly to the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society, a 501(c)3 charity. Any extra donations not used for Miss Mousie's medical expenses will be used to care for other WCGHS animals.
Thanks so much for helping Miss Mousie! If you know any cat lover authors, please let them know about us!
